Scheme launched for orphan children

The Rajasthan state government has launched the Palanhar Yojana to benefit the orphan children of the state. Under the Palanhar Yojana, the upbringing, education etc. of the orphan children of the state or those whose parents have died will not be arranged institutionally, but in the family of the closest relative/acquaintance of the boys and girls in the society. The main objective of this scheme is to help the orphan children.

Financial assistance will be given

Under the scheme, a grant of Rs 500 per month is provided to the foster family for each orphan child till the age of 5 years and Rs 1000 per month after admission to school till the child turns 18 years old. With the help of this amount, the foster family is able to raise the child well.

Who can avail the benefits of Palanhar Yojana

The Palanhar Yojana launched by the Rajasthan government supports orphan children by providing them financial assistance for their health, education and upbringing. Under the scheme, orphans, children of parents in jail, widowed mothers, children of abandoned or divorced women, disabled children, children of AIDS victims are eligible to avail the benefits.

Documents required for Rajasthan Palanhar Yojana

To apply in this scheme, you must have the following documents: –

  • “Bhamashah Card” of foster parent
  • “Income Certificate” of foster parent (It is not mandatory to submit income certificate in case of widow/abandoned/divorced and BPL category)
  • Copy of “Domicile Certificate”
  • “Aadhar Card” of child
  • “Certificate of registration at Anganwadi Centre/studying in school” of child
  • “Certificate of upbringing” of orphan children (The above certificate is to be provided only for those children whose parents have died or have been awarded death sentence/life imprisonment through judicial process or whose widowed mother has abandoned her children after legal remarriage)

To apply in this scheme, follow the steps given below: –

  • To apply for the scheme, first of all, you have to download the application form of Rajasthan Palanhar Yojana from the official website of Social Justice and Empowerment Department.
  • All the information like name of the foster parent, date of birth etc. has to be filled in the form.
  • All the documents have to be attached with the application form.
  • Residents of urban areas have to submit the form to the departmental district officer.
  • Residents of rural areas have to submit the form to the concerned development officer or e-Mitra kiosk center.
