Ladli Lakshmi Yojana: Many families face a lot of financial problems to save money for the higher education of their daughters or their marriage. Given this, a scheme was started by the Madhya Pradesh government. This scheme was started by the government to assist in the education and marriage of daughters. The name of this scheme being implemented by the Madhya Pradesh government is Ladli Laxmi Yojana. This scheme was started in the year 2007. The amount received under this scheme can be used to enable daughters to continue their further studies or for the marriage of daughters.

The scheme launched to empower women economically

This scheme has been launched by the government to empower women economically. This is a major initiative of the Madhya Pradesh government which aims to uplift the status of girls, ensure their well-being, and empower them through education and financial assistance. This comprehensive scheme addresses various aspects of a girl’s life, from birth to adulthood, by providing financial incentives at crucial junctures such as school admission and marriage.

Through the Ladli Laxmi Yojana, the government not only wants to improve the health and education of girls but also promote a positive social environment. This scheme provides benefits to girls born on or after 1 January 2006, non-taxpaying families, and orphaned girls.

Various benefits available under the Ladli Laxmi Yojana

  • Under the Ladli Laxmi Yojana, the government issues an assurance certificate of Rs 1,43,000 in the name of the girl child.
  • Starting from registration, Rs 6,000 is deposited every year in the Ladli Laxmi Yojana account for 5 years.
  • Additional amounts are given on admission in different classes: Rs 2,000 for class 6, Rs 4,000 for class 9, and Rs 6,000 for classes 11 and 12 respectively.
  • An incentive of Rs 25,000 is given in two equal installments during the first and last year of college or any other professional course of a minimum of 2 years.
  • The remaining amount of Rs 1 lakh is given to the girl when she attains the age of 21 years.

Eligibility required to avail of the scheme

  • To avail the benefits of this scheme, the girl child should have been born on or after 1 January 2006.
  • The girl child must be registered at the local Anganwadi center.
  • The parents should be residents of Madhya Pradesh and should not be income taxpayers.
  • Family planning should be adopted after the birth of the second child.
  • The benefits for the first girl child are provided without family planning, but to avail the benefits for the second girl child, the parents must adopt family planning.
  • In a family where there are a maximum of 2 children and where either of the parents has died, the parents can register till the girl turns 5 years old. However, if a person marries again and already has 2 children, the daughter from the second marriage will not be given the benefit of this scheme.
  • If three girls are born together in the first delivery, then all three will be given the benefit of the scheme.

  • To apply for the scheme, first of all, you have to go to the official website of Ladli Laxmi Yojana.
  • Here a new page will open where you have to fill in the overall ID number of Ladli.
  • After this, the information of the family members will come in front of you.
  • Now you have to select the female member who wants to apply.
  • After coming here, you have to click on the apply link.
  • Now the application form of the scheme will open in front of you.
  • You have to enter all your information in the application form which has been asked from you.
  • After this, all the requested documents have to be uploaded.
  • Finally, you have to click on the submit button.
  • In this way, your registration under the scheme will be completed.
